What is life?
Life is an enigma—one that constantly shifts, evolves, and defies understanding. Every day unfolds as something new, often far from what we envisioned. At night, as I reflect on the day that has passed, I realize that another chapter of my life has come to an end. When I evaluate the day, I see that none of it went according to my plans.
In my attempts to make sense of life, I try to plan each new day, imagining how everything will unfold. Yet when tomorrow comes, life rarely adheres to my script. The day seems to move according to its own rhythm, leaving me once again at night, wondering about the unpredictable nature of it all.
Life feels like a puzzle—one we try to piece together, but which ultimately assembles itself in ways beyond our control. We never know who we will meet, how long people will stay in our lives, or why they come and go. Some people stay with us for a lifetime, while others leave partway through our journey. Some pass by without leaving a mark, while others leave a deep and lasting impact.
Their influence can be positive or negative, shaping us in ways we don’t always understand until much later. That’s the curious thing about life—we only grasp its meaning once events have passed, leaving us with the wisdom of hindsight.
This is why life is such a profound mystery. We don’t know how things will turn out, and we often feel powerless, realizing that much of what happens is beyond our control. There are moments when life feels blissful, and we are filled with happiness. Then there are times when it seems dark and sorrowful, leaving us lost.
What I’ve come to understand is that life isn’t something we control. It is something we must embrace, whether it offers joy or sorrow. Each new day brings its own challenges and opportunities, and it’s up to us to welcome them, however they come.
If a day brings happiness, savor it fully so that you never have regrets. And if sadness comes, accept it, knowing that, like happiness, it too will pass. Life is cyclical, and nothing is permanent.
Ultimately, we hold very little in our hands. The future is always veiled, its secrets revealed only in time. Each day brings new events—some good, some bad—but all we can do is accept them as they come. This, in essence, is life.
