Story of Teej

According to Hindu mythology, Mata Parvati is an incarnation of Lord Shiva’s wife Sati. Lord Shiva got anguished when Sati immolated herself in protest of her father Daksha’s disapproval of Lord Shiva. After a long interval, she was reborn as Mata Parvati. The invocation of Maa Parvati blessings on the pious occasion of Teej is believed to bring about continued marital bliss.
